The full-field stress image above shows the assembly stress as seen around a bolted hinge on an automotive backlite lift gate. The curved glass is deformed as it conforms to the similarly curved hinge assembly.

Stresses induced at assembly measured by placing strain-sensitive coatings around components of a factory assembled unit. When the components are removed, factory assembly strain is released and visible in the coating.

The LamMaster 2 works on tinted glass. The 6mm grey tinted glass, shown here, has 30% transmission through-thickness.

In this image, you can see that the LamMaster 2 determined that the data in the interlayer section is not meaningful.
