The FLEX™Illuminator, as the name implies, is one of the most flexible, customizable illuminators that Stress Photonics offers. The FPI™ Illuminator is a large area stress imaging illuminator. Any number of LED light panels can be combined to accommodate any size glass product, including windshields, sidelites, backlites, and sunroofs, or architectural glass. The REFLECT™ Illuminator is used when measuring stress in painted glass, such as automotive glass black frit found on windshields, backlites, and sunroofs. The versatile design also enables it to be used when determining surface strains on any material with an applied photoelastic coating.

The NIR/SWIR Illuminator™ is a circularly polarized illuminator. When it is paired with an instrument such as the GFP™2600, users are able to accurately measure stress through NIR/SWIR transparent materials such as silicon wafers, silicon-coated glass, and many ceramics.
